Death Valley National Park is seeking motivated professionals to join our team and help care for this incredible place. Positions types vary and can be either full-time year-round or seasonal (typically six months). Some positions are in-person, while others are remote (telework).

Position examples include:

  • Maintenance (roads/trails, bulidings/grounds, utilities and more!)

  • Administration

  • Visitor services (fee collection, interpretation, visual information)

  • Emergency services (law enforcement, fire, EMS)

  • Management

  • Research/Science (cultural, natural, curatorial and more!)

Paid Internships

If you are between 15 to 30 years old, or a military veteran who is 35 years old or younger, apply for paid internship to help you figure out your career path. Gain work experience, while helping to preserve and protect our nation’s natural and cultural resources. The National Park Service collaborates with many organizations to offer onsite and remote internship and fellowship opportunities.

Scientist in Parks

Who can apply: Undergraduate or graduate students, 18-35 years old.

Schedule: Summer; 12-week

Application period: December - late January (apply here)

Interest areas: Field and office based internships focused on research, inventory and monitoring, curation of park resources, and interpretation and education projects.

Stipend: $760/week, plus travel expenses and housing provided for out-of-state students

Latino Heritage Internship Program

Who can apply: Undergraduate or graduate students with a focus on Latinos attending Hispanic Serving Institutions

Schedule: Summer, 11-weeks including a career leadership workshop in August for program participants

Application period: Spring/Summer Internships: Mid-December – early-February (apply here)

Interest areas: Natural and cultural resource management, interpretation, public affairs

Stipend: $688 week, based on a 40-hour week. Local or park housing and travel expenses will be provided for out-of-state students.
