SRO Update for April 25, 2018

Current Plow Crew Work Locations: Stony Dome Overlook. The crew is changing tire chains on the 972 loader and other wear parts to keep the machinery moving westward. We hope to make it to Eielson Visitor Center by this weekend.

Steam Crew Locations: Still no ice so the steam crew is making preparations for our repair of the Pretty Rocks slump

Snow Depths: 6 feet across the road and 20 foot drifts

Aufeis Depths: Zero

Road Open to Public Traffic: Teklanika Rest Stop

Equipment Status: All is up and running but the snow blower. It will be down for some time and might not make it back for the duration of SRO

Wildlife Sightings: Black-colored fox at mile 49 and ptarmigan everywhere

Notes/Observations/Comments: Where we were on this date for the past five SRO's:

• 2017: Mile 89
• 2016: Completed 4/19
• 2015: Mile 78
• 2014: Mile 89
• 2013: Mile 56 This was the winter that didn't end until Memorial Day weekend. We had to plow ourselves back to HQ six different times and we had a foot of snow fall on May 18.
