Last week, NPS staff met with the contractor to review upcoming work. This week, on-site activity is ramping up and the contractor will be hauling gravel and other materials to the Bear Cave area. Hauling most material on the road will take place at night to minimize traffic congestion. Next week, work will include temporarily widening the road in the Bear Cave area for construction staging and survey work at the Pretty Rocks site.
Below is a photo taken at the eastern edge of the landslide in early July, when several members of the House of Representatives visited the site with park staff.
