The 2024 construction season is underway. The contractor has been getting their camp up and running and mobilizing equipment and materials for this season’s work.
They have already started working on the west side cut and completed some rock dowel installation. They also began excavating for abutment blocks and completed the first blast of the season on the west rock cut. Steel fabrication is in progress at the fabricator’s location in Portland, Oregon.

Work camp and temporary access across slide constructed

Abutments cast and transported to site

Complete excavation
Construct east and west abutments
Install thermosyphon infrastructure
Install launch system micropiles and erection platform
Structural elements completed and transported from Vancouver to site
Bridge erection begins
2025
Erect bridge structure and decking
2026
Complete bridge decking and abutments- install back, cheek and retaining walls
Install thermosyphon condensers
Project opens to administrative park and inholder traffic July 1
2027
Bus traffic resumes on park road
Spring work on the east abutment excavation.
