The Gunnison River is one of the most important rivers in the West. It is a major tributary into the Colorado River. In Curecanti National Recreation Area, it flows into three reservoirs (Blue Mesa Reservoir, Morrow Point Reservoir, and Crystal Reservoir) before descending into Black Canyon.
