Attend a guided walk or talk to learn more about Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve! Fall programs are offered September 3 through September 28. Check out our event calendar for additional details and for information on special events.


Daily Programs (September 15 - 28):


Patio Talks: 11:00 a.m. & 3:30 p.m., 15 minutes
Enjoy a short presentation about the natural or cultural history of Craters of the Moon. Check the visitor center for daily topics. Meet at the Visitor Center patio tent.

Cave Walk: 1:00 p.m., 1 mile, 1 hour
Follow the trail through seas of ropy lava into the strange underground world of a lava tube. Wear sturdy shoes; bring a flashlight, and a cave permit. Meet at the Caves Area trailhead.

September 28: Nature Photography Workshop
Upcoming Fee Free Days: September 28 (National Public Lands Day) and November 11 (Veterans Day).
