Simple Form Action

This dialog displays as the next option when you are first configuring a Simple Form or when you select Form Action from the Simple Form Element menu for an existing Simple Form. Use this to view or change what happens on form submit. There are 4 options, 3 of which involve displaying a message to the user submitting the form.

Display an acknowledgment or confirmation in place of the form on the page.
Route users to a specific CommonSpot page
Display a message in an alert box.
Call a JavaScript function that you have already loaded via a Custom Script Element or Site Admin > Resources.
You can optionally include email addresses or require CAPTCHA verification.

The Simple Form Action dialog includes the following settings:

Name - The current form name. Optionally modify, noting the warning here.
Form Action - Select one of 4 options:

Display message upon submission requires that you create a confirmation or acknowledgment message. Click the Edit Message button, as shown above, and enter the appropriate text in the Form Submission Results Text dialog. The message replaces the Simple Form on the page. A refresh is required to render the form again.
Submit to a specified page requires that you choose a page for redirection, as shown below.

Call a JavaScript function with a specified message

Enter the function name and the message to display when the function fires.

Email Notification - Checking this option displays the following additional fields:
- Recipients - Optionally direct submitted form information to one or more CommonSpot users. Separate multiple recipients with commas (no spaces).
- Sender's Email Address - The sender’s email address is customizable.
- You can default to the current user by checking Use the email address of the user submitting the form. Note that this option captures registered (logged in) user email addresses only, not anonymous user addresses. Optionally add an email address to substitute when the user's address is unavailable. For example, anonymous_my_form@mysite.com
- Use specified email address give you the option of standardizing the "from" address for forms routed within your organization. This is helpful for categorizing form submissions.
You can add an Email Field to Simple Forms. When the Simple Form contains an email field, its settings override submit settings here.
