CommonSpot helps you to optimize your site for external searches by providing:

Built-in SERP (Search Engine Result Page) rank tracking for Google and Bing search engines - Schedule search engine queries to track keyword rankings on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, or set your own custom tracking period. Maintain ranking archives to view reports on ranking changes over time.

Keyword performance reports - View the last date and time search engines indexed your pages, get rank positions, and check rank changes and top scores for all targeted keywords. Easily view pages for which you have targeted keywords.

Competitive analysis tools and reports - Register competitors to track and compare your keyword rankings to your competitor rankings.

On-page grading rules and analysis - Once you define site-wide rules for grading SEO page performance, you can configure and assign a weight value to rules for each group of keywords you want to track. Then for each page/document that targets an SEO keyword, you can run rules on a daily scheduled basis. CommonSpot reports overall page grade results, with links to the score for each rule.

Reports to help you identify pages ranking high for specific keywords so you can target them for improving search engine performance.

In-context left-panel SEO Analysis and recommendations - View the most common statistics and reports at the page level from the SEO left pane, with links to full reports in the SEO Dashboard.

Context-sensitive field help - Use CommonSpot default Field Help or customize recommendations that help authors and editors optimize pages for search engine discovery and ranking. You can require that pages meet all SEO criteria before authors can save or publish them, or make Field Help recommendations optional.

Features to find and add new keywords - CommonSpot retrieves keywords ranked as similar by search engines. You can add suggested keywords to your keyword groups or use them to replace non-performing keywords.

Inbound link reports - Easily see which external sites and pages are linking to your pages.

To use these tools you must first create one or more SEO Reporting Groups in CommonSpot. Each SEO Reporting Group is a collection of targeted keywords and page grading rules associated with a specific section of your site. See SEO Reporting Groups and Page Grade Rule Definitions in the Search Engine/ SEO settings of the Site Administration Dashboard.

Once you create Reporting Groups, access SEO tools through the SEO Administration Dashboard, which provides tools and reports for the Reporting Group you select.
