Annotations

The Annotations dialog lists notes associated with an individual taxonomy term. Click the annotation icon next to a given term in the Browse Taxonomy dialog to view notes. The Annotations - term_name dialog displays, as shown below for the term New Hampshire, annotated with the state motto, The granite state.

This dialog displays the following:

• Type: Displays the type of annotation assigned to this term. Available types are defined in the current taxonomy. Use the Add Relationship Type dialog to add new types to the current taxonomy.
• Annotation: The note created for this term.

Use the Add New Annotation dialog to create new annotations for selected terms.

For Taxonomy fields in Custom Elements, Custom Metadata Forms, and Simple Form Elements, CommonSpot provides functions to programmatically access annotations for selected terms. See the Taxonomy API section of the CommonSpot Developer's Guide.
