Directory Security

Once you have installed CommonSpot on a production server, consider “locking down” the /commonspot directory from HTTP access for security reasons.

While there are many ways to lock down a directory, PaperThin recommends the following:

Restricting access for all users to the /commonspot directory, except for these directories:

Add users who need direct access to the CommonSpot Administrator modules. You can use either username/password controls or an IP filter schema to grant trusted access to the /commonspot directory through Web server access restrictions.
