Add/Edit Rule Definition

To add a new or edit an existing page grade rule definition displays the Add/Edit Rule Definition dialog. Use this dialog to add, view, change, or register new custom rule definitions for grading pages. You cannot edit or delete factory rules.

CommonSpot comes with a set of modules for applying the most common grading criteria to pages in the form of individual rules. You can also create your own custom rules. Review the contents of the /commonspot/samples/seo/rules directory for example code. Custom rules must be predefined and contained in an accessible directory.

Module: Choose one of the following.
- Select an existing module. Default. The dropdown displays a list of modules currently registered in CommonSpot and stored in the[site]/cs_customizations/seo/rules directory at the site root. Pick from the dropdown.
- Specify an explicit module: When selected, displays a text field for entering an explicit pointer to a custom module. Supply a valid path name. Enter the path in the form shown.
  Click the Show Module Info button to inspect the custom rule module and display the following fields.
Version: Displays a "release" number for the module
Author: The rule creator.
Applies to: The content type for this rule.
Fields: Which fields this rule affects.
Type: Read only. Generic
Name: Enter a descriptive name.
Description: Describe the purpose of this rule.
Active: Check this option to make this rule active and available for use in site Reporting Groups, uncheck to make it unavailable. Note that deactivated rules are deactivated site-wide for all reporting groups and will not run.
