Virtual Teacher Workshop
December 2021
The C&O Canal National Historical Park will host virtual teacher workshops during December 2021. During the 60-minute workshop, teachers will learn about C&O Canal distance learning, classroom lessons, student activities, the C&O Canal Junior Ranger program, and field trip curriculum programs. Each workshop participant will receive a stipend from the park's official non-profit partner, the
C&O Canal Trust, Inc.

Friday, December 3rd (3:30-5:00pm)
Thursday, December 9th (3:30-4:30pm)
Friday, December 10th (3:30-4:30pm)
Saturday, December 11th (8:30-9:30am)
Monday, December 13th (3:30-4:30pm)
Tuesday, December 14th (3:30-4:30pm)
Eligibility
Participants must be active K-12 teachers. Participants must be able to connect online to the virtual workshop (instructions will be sent upon registration).
Registration
Teacher participants may only register for one workshop session. Workshop participation is limited. Registration is first come, first serve. Please reserve your spot today!
To request a virtual seat, please submit an email to the C&O Canal Classrooms Team at
cocanaleducation@nps.gov. The email should contain the following information:
- Your Name and Email (preferred email for workshop registration)
- The name/address of the school where you currently teach.
- Briefly describe the grade/subject(s) that you teach.
- Please list your first, second and third preference of workshop dates (Note: We will seek to register you for a date in your preference order until each workshop date is at capacity.)
Once your email has been received, we will confirm your registration and send details for connecting to the workshop. The C&O Canal Trust, Inc. will mail your stipend following the workshop.
