The visitor center has exhibits on the Civil War era, as well as exhibits specifically on the 1863 Campaign for Chattanooga. Many visitors travel to the park specifically to see the Fuller Gun Collection, which is one of the best displays of military small arms in the United States.

Additionally, the park shows a 26 minute orientation film, The Campaign for Chattanooga: Death Knell of the Confederacy. This video plays every 30 minutes, beginning at 9 am and the last film of the day is at 4 pm. The visitor center is open daily from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center

The Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center is located at 110 Point Park Road in Lookout Mountain, TN, just outside of the gates of Point Park. It serves as a visitor contact station for the Lookout Mountain Battlefield and Point Park.

The visitor center has exhibits on the siege and Battles for Chattanooga. The highlight of the exhibit is the original painting, The Battle Above the Clouds, by James Walker, an eyewitness to the battle. The visitor center is open daily from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

The Ochs Museum

Located at the point of Lookout Mountain inside Point Park, the Ochs Museum is a historic structure built during the Great Depression. Inside are exhibits about the photography that took place on Lookout Mountain during the Civil War, the army's signal and communication operations, and Moccasin Bend National Archeological District.
