![]() Natural and spoil island campsites provide a variety of access and capacity options to those visitors who have their own boat, canoe or kayak. Reservations and a permit are required for island campsites. Canoe rentals are available for sites 1-5. Canoes are reserved by calling (386) 428-3384, after you have made your camping reservation. Sites 6-14 may only be reached with a personal boat, canoe or kayak.

This is the northern access of Canaveral National Seashore, located on Fla A1A at the southern-most end in New Smyrna Beach.Additional Information Please be aware of special restrictions concerning open fires. You may reserve your campsite up to 6 months prior to the camping date or up to the first day you wish to camp, if site is available. Only one permit will be issues per site, per night. All information collected on the camping permit is for use by Canaveral National Seashore to ensure that you have a safe and fun backcountry experience. You must be 18 years of age to make a reservation. Camping is permitted only at designated sites. Please note that violations of these regulations may result in fines. You must print your permit. If you are renting a canoe, bring it with you to the Apollo Visitor Center before 4:00 PM the day of check in.

ADA Information - No facilities or utilities exist at any of the campsites within Canaveral National Seashore. Leave No Trace camping ethics are the rule. There is no vehicle camping at the park. Camping or biodegradable toilet paper is recommended. We recommend having a cell phone at your disposal while camping in the park. Emergencies should be reported by dialing 911. Wheelchair Access - No wheel chair access. RV & Trailer Information - No RV or Trailer access. RV Allowed - No Trailer Allowed - No Classification - This campground is a designated primitive campsite. NPS Photo For visitors wishing to backcountry camp in the seashore, primitive camping is available on designated islands throughout the Intracoastal Waterway and Mosquito Lagoon. These campsites are available by reservation only and require a permit. You may reserve campsites for $25 per night and up to six months in advance. RV or vehicle camping is not permitted within the seashore. Fourteen island campsites are available for reservation and include both natural island and spoil island campsites. All fourteen island campsites are accessible by campers with their own watercraft, such as a motor boat, kayak, or canoe. Canoe rentals are available (weather permitting) for campsites #1 - #5 only. Canoe rentals are $25 per night for individuals 18 years and older. Canoe capacity is two people per canoe, plus gear.
