Canaveral National Seashore is one of 109 National Park areas that collect fees. 80% of your fees stays in the seashore while 20% is used for the benefit of non fee collection sites. Most people know that the National Park Service cares for National Parks, a network of over 430 natural, cultural and recreational sites across the nation. The treasures in this system – the first of its kind in the world –have been set aside by the American people to preserve, protect, and share, the legacies of this land. They represent major financial investments by the federal government. Parks need preservation, staffing, and maintenance. Some have also required large public expenditures for land acquisition.

The seashore is authorized to use entrance and recreation fees via the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA) for a variety of projects related to your enjoyment. A few examples are listed below.
