Come join a ranger program during your visit to the seashore!

 

Please Note:

All programs are subject to cancellation and/or rescheduling due to staff limitations, weather conditions, or other factors. Some programs require reservations, a minimum age, or a cost-recovery fee. Call 386-428-3384 for program information during operating hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), www.nps.gov/cana. Entrance fees apply to all interpretive program participants. All programs meet the requirements for the Canaveral National Seashore Junior Ranger program.

Apollo District (New Smyrna Entrance) Ranger Programs: July 2026

MOST FRIDAY AND SATURDAYS IN JULY-“TURTLE WATCH” 8:00 PM - Journey with a Park Ranger and visit Canaveral National Seashore to view a loggerhead sea turtle nesting. Turtle Watch Programs give park visitors an opportunity to learn about sea turtles and the role that the National Park Service plays in their conservation. The program will take place in the Playalinda & Apollo Districts on most Fridays & Saturdays July 10,11,17,18,24 &25. The fee for this program is $25 for ages 16 years and older (ages 8 to 15 years is $10). Children must be 8 years old or older to participate. Reservations are required and space is limited. SUNDAY 5th- 10:00 AM- “SEASHORE 101” - Join Park staff for a 30-minute talk to discover what makes Canaveral National Seashore so special. Meet at the Visitor Center. (30 minutes)

MONDAY 13th - 10:00 AM- “THE SEA TURTLES ARE HERE”-Find out the current numbers of sea turtle nests on your national seashore. Learn about the 4 different species that use our shores to lay their eggs. Meet at the Visitor Center. (1 hour)

MONDAY 13th and 20st - 1:00 PM- “MANATEE TALK” – Observe manatee in their natural environment and learn about their unique characteristics from a park ranger. Meet at the Visitor Center in the Apollo District. (30 minutes)

MONDAY 20th - 10:00 AM - “BEACH WALK” -Discover gifts from the sea on a walk on the shore. We’ll look for seashells, driftwood, and other wonderful surprises. Be sure to put on sunscreen and bring plenty of water. (1 hour)

MONDAY 27th - 10:00 AM BEACH CLEAN-UP” - Help keep our beaches clean. Join us to clean up your national park Bring water, sunscreen, bug repellant and a hat. We provide trash bags and show you how keep a record of what you collect. (1 hour)

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY IN JULY- “JUNIOR ANGLER PROGRAM” - 10:00 AM-12:00 PM - Canaveral National Seashore will host a free summer program. Youths aged 8 and up will learn ethical angling. All fishing gear and bait are provided. Reservations are required. Parents/guardians must remain for the program. To make reservations, please call the Apollo Beach Visitor Center at 386-428-3384. Meet at the Visitor Center.

 

Seminole Rest District (Oak Hill) Ranger Programs: July 2026

FRIDAY 3rd- 11:00 AM- “SEMINOLE REST 101”- Join park staff for a 30-minute talk introducing Seminole Rest and the stories that make this place unique. Discover the rich cultural history of the site, from early Native American inhabitants to the historic house atop Snyder Mound. This talk provides an overview of the people, landscapes, and history that have shaped Meet inside the main house at 11:00 AM. Seminole Rest: 207 River Rd. Oak Hill Florida, 32759 (30 minutes)

MONDAY 13th, 20th and 27th - 1:00 PM- “SEASHORE GLIMPSE”- Join Park staff for a 30-minute talk highlighting the wildlife, history, and natural beauty that make Canaveral National Seashore truly special. Meet inside the main house at 1:00 PM. Seminole Rest: 207 River Rd. Oak Hill Florida, 32759 (30 minutes)

MOST MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS IN JULY - “JUNIOR ANGLER FISHING PROGRAM” - 10:00 AM-12:00 PM - Summer programs are in full swing! Canaveral National Seashore will host an amazing, free summer Junior Angler program. Youths aged 8 and up will learn the skill of surf or lagoon fishing, including knot tying, bait & tackle, healthy fish habitats, and gain hands-on experience. All fishing gear and bait are provided. These single-day fishing clinics are scheduled on most Mondays and Tuesdays in July. Reservations are required. Program are free, but entrance fee applies. Playalinda District (Titusville Entrance) Ranger Programs: July 2026

SUNDAY 12th, 19th and 26th - 9:00 AM- “SEASHORE 101- Join park staff for a 30-minute talk to discover what makes Canaveral National Seashore special. Meet at the Eddy Creek Pavilion in the Playalinda District at 9:00 AM. (30 minutes)
