It should be noted that fifty years ago today Boston National Historical Park became the
272nd national park unit (there are 431 units today) through an act of Congress, Public Law
93-431.

A new National Park Service report shows that 2.9 million visitors to National Parks of Boston in 2023 spent $196.5 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 2,430 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $298.8 million.
Beginning on August 5, 2024 the US Navy will establish an extended security perimeter
on Pier One, West, in anticipation of their temporary berthing location on August 9th. The
USS Constitution will be berthing in the visiting ship location on Pier One from August
9th until approximately August 30th due to dredging operations that will be occurring
within the Pier One slip.

BOSTON–National Parks of Boston Superintendent Michael Creasey has named longtime National Park Service leader Liza Stearns as the new Deputy Superintendent.
BOSTON–From June 9-17, the National Parks of Boston and partners will host a series of events to commemorate the 249th anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill. All programs are free and open to the public. Featured programs include an evening Luminary Gathering on June 15 and the annual Battle of Bunker Hill Remembrance Ceremony & Oration on June 17.
BOSTON–On Monday, May 27 at 3:00 p.m. ET, the National Parks of Boston, USS CONSTITUTION, and the USS Constitution Museum will commemorate Memorial Day by participating in "Taps Across America." This national event honors our nation's veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States of America.
The National Parks of Boston and South Boston Citizens' Association will host the annual Evacuation Day Commemoration on Friday, March 15 at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
BOSTON – United States Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro and U.S. Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor Freeman Johnson joined the National Parks of Boston yesterday, December 7, for a gathering of remembrance in the Charlestown Navy Yard.
The National Parks of Boston will host a gathering of remembrance at the USS Constitution Museum followed by a wreath-laying ceremony on the World War II-era destroyer USS CASSIN YOUNG to remember and honor those who perished in the December 7, 1941, attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
