The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will host an antique tractor show as part of the celebration of early farm life in the Big South Fork region during the Thirteenth Annual Spring Planting Day celebration on Saturday, April 27, 2013.  Activities will take place in the areas adjacent to the Bandy Creek Visitor Center and the Lora Blevins home place from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. EDT.  Of special interest is the antique tractor show to be held at Bandy Creek.

Persons with original or restored tractors manufactured prior to 1974 are invited to bring them to Bandy Creek for display to the public.  Unusual or interesting implements are also welcome for display.  In order to preserve the historic landscape of the homestead, motorized equipment will be displayed at Bandy Creek while animal drawn equipment will be displayed at the Lora Blevins farm.  There is no fee for displaying your tractor or equipment.

Tractors will be displayed at a designated location in the field across from the Bandy Creek Visitor Center.  Transportation to the Lora Blevins homestead will be available.  Bring a picnic lunch and plan on spending the day.  Food and cold drinks will also be available for sale through onsite food vendors.

The event is free of charge and open to the public.  For more information, call the Bandy Creek Visitor Center at (423) 286-7275.
