A Day of Remembrance: Big Hole CommemorationEvery year, the Nez Perce gather at Big Hole National Battlefield to honor the memory of those who lost their lives here and to celebrate the resilience of those who endured. Visitors are invited to witness the ceremony and share in the experience, though some portions are reserved exclusively for nímí·pu· (Nez Perce) participation, and at times, photography may be restricted. Guidelines for respectful observance will be shared during the event to maintain a mindful atmosphere. Event details, including the date, times, and any additional highlights, will be shared here and in a park news release each year.
