Bent’s Old Fort was completely reconstructed by the National Park Service in 1975-1976, and was dedicated on July 25, 1976. The large scale of the reconstruction was unique way to mark America's 200th birthday and the centennial of Colorado's statehood. Today it stands as a reminder of how the United States has remembered its past.
