Instructions: Look at the historic and modern photos of White Haven above. Use the slider tool to compare the photos. Ulysses S. Grant called this place home for a number of years. He worked as a farmer on the property, and lived with his wife, children, and father-in-law. Can you tell any differences in the home from 1860 to today? What differences and similarities do you see?

2. What do you like about your home, besides living there, why do you consider this house that you drew home? Example, does your home make you feel safe?
3. Ulysses S. Grant lived in many places during his life. How many homes have you lived in?
4. Besides being a farmer, Ulysses S. Grant's primary job was that of soldier and later General. (leader of soldiers) What were some of the challenges that Ulysses faced in trying to maintain a steady home for his family when he was a soldier? When he was a soldier, could he see his family anytime he wanted to? Why or Why not?
