This will be our final listing for the 2024 visitor season of “What’s in Bloom at the Wild Gardens of Acadia”

Rest assured, the gardens will continue its regular hours and operations. There’s just one more plant that’s expected to bloom this season, witch hazel, which may take a few more weeks yet.

Special thanks to Geneva Langley and all of her dedicated helpers who work tirelessly to make the gardens such a special place to visit.

What’s in Bloom:

  • Large-leaved Aster (Eurybia macrophylla- Asteraceae) – MIXED WOODS and CONIFEROUS WOODS
  • New England Aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae- Asteraceae) – MEADOW
  • Rough-stem Goldenrod (Solidago rugosa- Asteraceae) – MEADOW
  • White Flat-topped Aster (Doellingeria umbellata- Asteraceae) – MEADOW
  • Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia- Campanulaceae) – MOUNTAIN
  • Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum- Geraniaceae) – BEACH
  • Seaside Goldenrod (Solidago sempervirens- Asteraceae) – BEACH
  • Devil’s Beggar-ticks (Biden frondosa- Asteraceae) – BEACH
  • New York Aster (Symphyotrichum novi-belgii- Asteraceae) – BEACH
  • Heart-leaved Aster (Symphyotrichum cordifolium- Asteraceae) – PITCH PINE UPLAND
  • Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis- Campanulaceae) – BROOKSIDE and HEATH
  • Zig-zag Goldenrod (Solidago flexicaulis- Asteraceae) – CONIFEROUS WOODS
  • Calico Aster (Symphyotrichum lateriflorum- Asteraceae) – EXIT and MEADOW

What’s in Fruit:

  • Jack-in-the-Pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum- Araceae) – MIXED WOODS, BIRD THICKET and BROOKSIDE
  • Partridgeberry (Mitchella repens- Rubiaceae) – MIXED WOODS and CONIFEROUS WOODS
  • Virginia Rose (Rosa virginiana- Rosaceae) – MEADOW
  • Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens- Ericaceae) – PITCH PINE UPLAND and ROADSIDE
  • Large Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon- Ericaceae) – BOG
  • Winterberry (Ilex verticillata- Aquifoliaceae) – THROUGHOUT THE GARDENS
