Plan Like a Park Ranger: Top 10 Tips for Visiting Weir Farm National Historical Park

Planning a visit to Weir Farm National Historical Park? Plan like a Park Ranger and follow these ten tips to ensure you have a fantastic day!

1. Know Before You Go

Park grounds are open daily from sunrise to sunset. For up to date information and hours, visit our Basic Information page and check the Event Calendar!

2. BYOW—Bring Your Own Water

Stay hydrated while visiting Weir Farm! Park Restrooms are closed for the off-season, and no drinking water is available, please plan accordingly. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own water and a water bottle.

3. Leave No Trace

Pack in and pack out! We appreciate your help in keeping the park clean, packing out your trash, and recreating responsibly. Learn more about the Leave No Trace Principles.

4. Make Art in the Park

Bring your own supplies year-round. In-season (May - October), stop by the Visitor Center to pick up free-to-use art supplies and Take Part in Art! Note that cleaning art supplies in the bathroom in not allowed.

5. Become a Junior Ranger

Weir Farm is fun for the whole family! Junior Ranger activities are available both online and in the park.

6. Bring Your Furry Friend

Dogs are welcome at Weir Farm! Be sure to bag your pet's waste and keep them on a leash. Doggy bag stations are located throughout the park.

7. Group Reservations

Coming with a large group? Any group arriving in more than 2 cars must make a reservation ahead of your visit.

8. RV Travelers

Coming in a RV? If so, please call ahead! Our visitor parking lot cannot accommodate large vehicles, but alternative options are available.

9. Become a Virtual Visitor

Visit us online at nps.gov/wefa for amazing online resources, including virtual tours, a junior ranger activity, and so much more!
