Two descendants of a past island lighthouse keeper give a tour of the South Manitou Island Lighthouse.

Lighthouse Keepers, landscapers, painters, window restorers, brush-hoggers, campground preppers, trail clearers, ferry boat greeters, band-aid suppliers, schedule makers, meal coordinators, and general raconteurs are just a few of the hats that Patty and Margaret have generously worn while volunteering on South Manitou Island for over 30 years. Thank you doesn't begin to cover our gratitude for them and their crew.

You may arrive on South Manitou Island as a volunteer, park staff or visitor, but if you're lucky enough to share it with Margaret or Patty and their island ancestors, going back another 100 years, you'll leave as family.
