Arches National Park Timed Entry Pilot

Visiting Arches? From April 1 to July 6 and August 28 to October 31, visitors are required to have a timed entry ticket to enter the park. In this video, rangers help you plan your next trip and outline what you’ll need to enter the park.

 

What You Need

From April 1 through July 6 and August 28 through October 31, 2025, visitors entering the park in a vehicle will need two things:

1. Timed Entry Ticket

2. Park Entrance Fee OR valid Park Pass (includes Annual, Senior, Access, Military, 4th Grade, or Volunteer passes). See all qualifying Entrance Fees and Passes.

Ticketed entry will run from 7 am to 4 pm daily. Those without a ticket may enter the park before 7 am or after 4 pm. The park is open 24/7.

Already Booked an Activity?

Timed entry tickets will not be required for those with camping, backcountry, Fiery Furnace, or special use permits; nor those with concessions contracts, commercial use authorizations, or academic fee waivers.

Visitation to Arches National Park grew nearly 36 percent in the past decade, nearing 2 million people annually. This increase was concentrated during certain hours, causing congestion at key park destinations, reduced visitor enjoyment, and increased resource damage. During times of peak congestion prior to implementing the vehicle reservation pilots, the park had to temporarily close its gates until crowding lessened, resulting in many visitors being unable to enter the park at their preferred time or at all.

The vehicle reservation pilots in 2022, 2023, and 2024 were successful in reducing congestion, improving visitor experiences, providing reliable access, and distributing visitation throughout the day (Learn more about the 2022 findings here). Visitors arriving with the appropriate vehicle reservation and park pass were guaranteed entry to the park during the pilots.

The park accepted public feedback in November 2023 about past visitor experiences under the 2022 and 2023 pilot programs and long-term strategies for visitor access. More details are available on the project website. Input received from this process is being used to inform strategies for the future.
