Race or Tribe: Residence: Fronteras; San Lorenzo; Santa Fe Title: Mujer de José Antonio Romo de Vivar
Place of Service: Burial Place: Translation: (Basque - pasture with dwarf elder trees)
Notes: Daughter of Juan Bautista de Anza (presidial captain) and his first wife Maria Valenzuela - Granddaughter of Antonio de Anza (pharmacist) and Lucia de Sassoeta of Hernani, Guipuzcoa, Spain. Her birthdate is not exact - she was sixteen years old at the time of her marriage on April 13, 1734. It is not certain that she is who married Josef Antonio Romo de Vivar because the marriage information only records that he married "María" de Anza. Her full sister's name was María Gertrudis and, thus, either of them could be the María married to Romo de Vivar. However, there is some indication that María Gertrudis may have been married to Ignacio Diaz del Carpio, and it is probable that María Manuela was Romo de Vivar's wife.
