Notes: Jose Gallegos was a soldier at the Tucson Presidio on 1 January 1817 (Dobyns 1976:160). He was a Sergeant by June 1818, serving with the horse herd. In July he was sick, but had returned to guarding the horse herd by September. He was stationed in New Mexico in November and December of 1818 (AGN 233, Tucson Presidio, June-December 1818).
