Glacier National Park Current Road Status

Currently 29.0 miles of the Going-to-the-Sun Road are open for travel.
Visitors can drive 15.5 miles from the West Entrance to Avalanche, and 13.5 miles from the St. Mary Entrance to Jackson Glacier Overlook.

The section of the road between Avalanche and Jackson Glacier Overlook is closed due to plowing.

Hiker/Biker access on the west side is to The Loop, approximately 8 miles past the vehicle closure when the road crew is working.

Hiker/Biker access on the east side to Siyeh Bend, approximately 2 miles past the vehicle closure, while the road crew is working.


Dogs are not permitted on roads past the vehicle closures.

The Packers Roost Rd is closed due to wash out.

Inside North Fork Road
The Inside North Fork Road is currently closed at Logging Creek RS and Fish Creek due to the following reasons. The Inside North Fork Road is closed between CAMAS Creek on the south end and Logging Creek on the north end due to ongoing poor road conditions. The Roads to Kintla, Bowman, and Logging Creek Ranger Station are currently open from Polebridge.
Camas Road
The Camas Road is open.
Chief Mountain Road
The Chief Mountain Road is open.
Cut Bank Road
The Cut Bank Road is currently closed at Ranger Station due to the weather.
Many Glacier Road
The Many Glacier Road is open.
Two Medicine Road
