Things to Know Before You Go
We highly recommend you bring water, food, sunscreen, and whatever else you need to stay safe throughout the day. Check the weather before you come and dress accordingly. Washington, DC, is usually very hot and humid with the possibility of strong storms in July.

Things to Know at the Event

Report a lost person by contacting the nearest uniformed United States Park Police officer or National Park Service ranger or volunteer. All lost persons will be taken to the United States Park Police’s family reunification area.
If you see lost property, let a United States Park Police officer or National Park Service ranger or volunteer know. If you’ve lost property, call United States Park Police Dispatch at 202-610-7500.
You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Don’t forget to check the prohibited items list. We strongly recommend bringing a water bottle, which you can fill at the water fountains near the Skate Pavilion and water stations located at medical aid stations around Anacostia Park. Food and drinks are available for purchase at concession stands and local restaurants in downtown Anacostia.
The fireworks display may be delayed or cancelled if there is inclement weather, such as driving rain, high winds, lightning, or too much cloud cover. Updates will be communicated on the park webpage and social media.
