Alternate Parking and Towpath Access Points
1. Cushwa Basin (205 W Potomac St, Williamsport, MD)
- Public parking lot available, public restroom available.
- Towpath access via steep staircase on Railroad Lift Bridge. Not recommended for bicycles and strollers. Not ADA accessible.
- Towpath access via gravel rail-trail. Take trail 1/2 mile downstream to cross bridge at Lock 44.
2. C&O Canal NHP Headquarters (142 W Potomac St, Williamsport, MD)
- Public parking lot available, no public restroom.
- Towpath access via the Bollman Bridge on Salisbury Street.
- This is also an access point for cyclists that need access to amenities in the town of Williamsport.
3. Lockhouse 44 (at the end of Main St, Williamsport, MD)
- Public parking lot available, public restroom available.
- Towpath access for bikes and pedestrians.
- Horses can access towpath via grassy trail on side of canal.
