Park Ranger teaching the students about the Plains Indians way of living.
One way we plan to aid teachers, is to allow the teacher an opportunity to learn first hand about the National Park Service.
Through the Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program, interested teachers spend a summer working as a park ranger, and learning about the park site. Teachers will learn, develop, and present interpretive programs for the public.
But this is just the half of it...
When the teachers get back to school the following semester, they will use the knowledge they acquired during the summer and incorporate it into the classroom. Also during National Park Week, Teacher Rangers will be asked to share their park experiences with the class, and wear their ranger uniform.
