Vanderbilt Mansion Guided Tour:
$8 per person

Grounds are Free

The Interagency Annual, Senior, and Access Passes are sold  and honored at all the National Park Service sites in Hyde Park . Please see the fee collector for more information on the new passes or go to http://store.usgs.gov/pass. All National Parks Passes, Golden Eagle, Golden Eagle Hologram, Golden Access and Golden Age Passports will continue to be honored according to the provisions of the pass.  

Details
Guided, 45-minute, walking tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion including first floor, second floor, and portion of basement.  There are approximately 100 steps during the tour. 

The Vanderbilt Mansion is accessible; however the elevator is historic, old and frequently needs servicing.  Please call ahead to check availabilty.

Reservations

Reservations are generally not necessary for individuals. Groups of 10 or more are required to make a reservation.  To make a reservation, visit recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777.  If you experience any difficulty in booking your visit to Hyde Park, please call Kevin Thomas, at 845-486-1966.

Did You Know?
Christoph Jacob Munk and his family emigrated from Germany to Ohio in 1832. They traveled along the National Road. He wrote about rainstorms, a 4 foot rattlesnake, the mountains and sleeping at isolated inns. He also mentions that “it is very troublesome to travel with [a] wife and children.”
