Valley Forge National Historical Park
Final General Management Plan Now Available

Dear Friend of Valley Forge National Historical Park,

Over four years, with the help of the community, Valley Forge National Historical Park has developed this Abbreviated Final General Management Plan / Environmental Impact Statement (GMP/EIS). The draft plan—issued this past winter—identified the purpose and vision for the park and four management alternatives for park operations, visitor use and enjoyment, cultural and natural resources management, traffic management, and general development. The potential human and environmental impacts of the alternatives were assessed.

This Abbreviated Final GMP/EIS is comprised of the NPS’ responses to public comments, errata detailing typographic editorial changes to the Draft GMP/EIS, and copies of agency and substantive comment letters. The public release of this Abbreviated Final GMP/EIS will be followed by a 30-day no-action period, after which a Record of Decision (ROD) will be prepared to document the selected alternative and set forth any stipulations for implementation of the GMP. The 30-day no-action period ends on September 18, 2007. This document is available for review but is not open for formal public comment.

You may obtain the Abbreviated Final GMP/EIS using the link below and the full Draft GMP/EIS may be found on-line at:
