Kingsley Plantation is located on the north side of the St. Johns River within the city limits of Jacksonville, Florida.
From I-95 north of Jacksonville: Traveling from the north via Interstate 95, exit at Florida Route 9A (Exit #362). Exit at Heckscher Drive, turn left. Continue on Heckscher 9 miles. After passing the St. Johns River Ferry landing on your right, turn left 1/2 mile later at the brown National Park Service sign onto Fort George Island. Follow the signs; the road leads directly to the Kingsley Plantation parking lot. You will travel down a two-mile dirt road.
From I-95 south of Jacksonville: Traveling up the east coast of Florida via Interstate 95 from the south, leave I-95 at Exit 337, Florida Route 9A. Continue north on 9A. After crossing the St. Johns River via the Napoleon Bonaparte Broward Bridge, take the first exit, turning right (eastbound) on Heckscher Drive, Florida Route 105. Travel approximately 9 miles on Heckscher Drive. Then, after passing the St. Johns River Ferry landing on your right, turn left 1/2 mile later at the brown National Park Service sign onto Fort George Island. Follow the signs; the road leads directly to the Kingsley Plantation parking lot. You will travel down a two-mile dirt road. From Amelia Island: Take A1A south to Kingsley Plantation sign, turn right. (A1A travels from Amelia Island, across Big and Little Talbot Islands, onto Fort George Island, where Kingsley Plantation is located.) After passing the blinking light at Huguenot Memorial Park, the turn for Kingsley Plantation is 8/10 mile on your right. If you pass the St. Johns River Ferry Landing you have passed the turn. Follow the signs; the road leads directly to the Kingsley Plantation parking lot. You will travel down a two-mile dirt road.
By Boat: For those planning to arrive by boat, Kingsley Plantation is on the south bank of the Fort George River, approximately seven-tenths of a nautical mile east of the Intracoastal Waterway at Marker 57. Refer to the appropriate marine navigation charts for detailed information. Docking facilities, able to accomodate up to a 25 foot boat, are availble at Kingsley Plantation. Personal watercraft can be tied up to the dock for up to 59 minutes. For visitors arriving by kayak or canoe, a designated beach landing is located east of the Kingsley Plantation main house.
Transportation Options: Jacksonville International Airport is northwest of the park. Jacksonville is served by Amtrak and by Greyhound Bus lines. Personal or rental vehicles are required to reach the park.
RVs and Trailers: There is a two mile dirt road to Kingsley Plantation. If you have concerns about road conditions, please call the park at 904.251.3537. If you travel with a large RV towing a vehicle, you may wish to contact Kingsley Plantation before visiting as the parking lot is small and there is limited space to turn around.
