From Jacksonville: Follow Route 105 (Heckscher Drive) east and north toward Amelia Island. At the St. Johns River Ferry, US Route A1A joins 105; 3.5 miles after the entrance to Amelia Island State Park, turn right onto Lewis Street, at the “American Beach” sign. Follow Lewis Street to the beach.

From Fernandina Beach: Follow US Route A1A south. Turn left onto Lewis Street at the “American Beach” sign just beyond the BP gas station.
