Fort Caroline Curriculum Materials

Fort Caroline National Memorial focuses on the history of the French attempt to colonize Florida during the 1560s and the subsequent clash of cultures that occured between the Timucua Indians, the French, and the Spanish. Educational groups can take advantage of the Preserve-wide Visitor Center, fort exhibit, and one-mile nature trail with educational signs.

Did You Know?
The first replica fort at Fort Caroline National Memorial was destroyed in 1964 by Hurricane Dora. The demise of the French colony at Fort Caroline was also due to a hurricane.
