Pets are not allowed on the grounds of the memorial. Service animals are permitted without exception.

Washington DC gets to see all four seasons. Humidity will make the temps feel hotter in summer and colder in winter. Always Open
The sites of National Mall and Memorial Parks (other than the Washington Monument) are always open to the public. Restrooms, museums and elevators close in the evenings (check individual sites for hours)
Rangers on Duty
Rangers are on Duty to assist the Visiting Public from 9:30 am to 10:00 pm daily (except christmas). The United States Park Police are on Duty 24 hours a day.
The sidewalks and approaches to the Washington Monument are ADA compliant.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a minister and an activist who is best known for his role as a leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He was an eloquent speaker and writer and composed the famous "I Have a Dream" speech, which he delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
As you explore the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, you will have views of quotes from throughout King's lifetime and of a striking sculpture of the civil rights leader. You will also have views of cherry trees and the Tidal Basin.
