There are many species that are only found within a national park, such as:
- Cape Sable seaside sparrow (Everglades National Park),
- Shenandoah salamander (named after the park it calls home, Shenandoah National Park),
- Great Basin cave millipede and white pine amphipod (Great Basin National Park),
- Olympic marmot (Olympic National Park),
- Franciscan manzanita (Golden Gate National Recreational Area), and
- Island scrub jay (Channel Islands National Park).
