There are many species that are only found within a national park, such as:

  • Cape Sable seaside sparrow (Everglades National Park),
  • Shenandoah salamander (named after the park it calls home, Shenandoah National Park),
  • Great Basin cave millipede and white pine amphipod (Great Basin National Park),
  • Olympic marmot (Olympic National Park),
  • Franciscan manzanita (Golden Gate National Recreational Area), and
  • Island scrub jay (Channel Islands National Park).
