Planning for Preservation
Before the physical work of preservation can begin, the National Park Service conducts research and documentation to know what is important to protect.
NPS reports on national cemeteries help visitors and park managers to understand changes to the landscape over time. They highlight the important features, recommend treatment to care for the cemetery landscape, and plan for preservation maintenance.
