General InformationThe National Park Service welcomes people with disabilities. As we develop this park we will provide products such as alternate formats for print materials, audio description, assistive listening, captions, or physical access to particular facilities, programs or services. Please look back to this site for more information as we expand opportunities to serve all visitors better. Ste. Genevieve Welcome CenterThe Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center has one accessible parking space in the parking lot adjacent to the building. There is also street parking near the entrance. The Welcome Center is wheelchair accessible and has an access ramp in front of the building. The outer entrance door is 35" wide and opens outward. A 90 degree turn follows. Followed by 35" wide archway. There are no buttons to open the doors. Bauvais-Amoureux HouseThis facility is only open when the inside temperature is over 50 degrees Fahrenheit and below 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The Bauvais-Amoureux House is in the process of being improved to meet accessibility standards. Green Tree TavernGreen Tree Tavern is open year round, is not currently wheelchair accessible. The parking for Green Tree Tavern is located in a park across the street. Accessing the home requires parking on a gravel/lawn area, crossing a footbridge and a road. Jean Baptiste Vallé HouseThe Jean Baptiste Vallé House is located across the street from the Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center. There is one accessible parking space in the parking lot behind the Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center. There is also street parking.
Service AnimalsService animals are permitted anywhere in the park, including the historic house. A service animal is defined as “any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability”. Dogs are the only animals that can be used as a service animal except for miniature horses.
