Operating Hours & Seasons

The Lowndes County Interpretive Center is open daily 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST. We are closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.  The Trail is open year-round.

To increase national awareness of the movement, many celebrities performed at "The Stars for Freedom" rally at St. Jude in Montgomery, including Harry Belafonte, Peter, Paul and Mary, Mahalia Jackson, and Joan Baez.
