The park and Saint-Gaudens Memorial (SGM) provide a working educator with a flexible schedule and compensation to develop their skills outside the classroom and work in New Hampshire’s only National Park Service unit. Work Location & ScheduleThe Education Fellow and park staff will coordinate a flexible schedule and workload to minimize scheduling conflicts with normal teaching responsibilities during the academic year. Occasional or frequent in-person work at the park is required at the park during summer months for trainings, meetings, workshops, and other educational programs. Remote work and scheduling flexibility are supported throughout the year. The candidate is responsible for tracking hours worked in-person and remotely. CompensationThe Education Fellow will be compensated as an independent contractor of the Saint-Gaudens Memorial at the rate of $30 per hour for up to 750 hours. The candidate is responsible for tracking hours worked and must submit a monthly invoice. The candidate may not exceed 750 hours. This position is not a federal job. To apply, send a letter of interest and resume to newton_rose@nps.gov About Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park and the Saint-Gaudens MemorialSaint-Gaudens National Historical Park (SAGA) in Cornish, NH preserves the home, studios, gardens, and museum collection of American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The park boasts the largest collection of Saint-Gaudens sculpture in the world and is the only unit of the National Park Service dedicated to a sculptor. Place-based learning opportunities at the park span disciplines, interests, and time-periods. The park’s historic setting provides innovative ways for visitors and students to engage with topics ranging from Civil War memorialization, the technological process of creating sculpture, art history, and ecology. The park operates in partnership with the private non-profit foundation, the Saint-Gaudens Memorial (SGM), to advance programs and educational opportunities. The SGM has sponsored numerous programs at the park for the public since 1948 including concerts, art exhibits, and special events. Throughout its history, the SGM has supported educational programs at the park to connect youth with the life and work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens and the Cornish Arts Colony. The park is one of a handful NPS sites accredited by the American Alliance for Museums and is a member of Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios and Reconstruction Era National Historic Network. The park is open daily from Memorial Day weekend to October 31 with limited educational services offered year-round. |
