Visit Rocky's Junior Ranger Headquarters!

Junior Ranger Headquarters is closed for the winter and spring seasons. Come see us again in summer 2025!

Junior Ranger Headquarters is a place just for kids!

  • Participate in fun Discovery Activities. Junior Rangers of all ages can learn about park ecology, animal track identification, and plant identification and much more.
  • Meet with a Park Ranger - Park Rangers will be along Hidden Valley's half-mile loop trail throughout the day doing pop up programs.
  • Park Rangers will have explorer bags to loan to families that want to do some explorations on their own. These are self-guided activities and each bag has a card inside that will lead you through several investigations. When you are done with your investigations, please return the explorer bag to the rangers and tell them about your adventures.
  • Pick Up Your Junior Ranger Activity Booklets and Earn Your Junior Ranger Badge!

All activities at Junior Ranger Headquarters are free. A parent or guardian must be present with children at all times.

Where is Junior Ranger Headquarters?

Located on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park, Junior Ranger Headquarters is based at Hidden Valley, which is accessed via Trail Ridge Road/U.S. Highway 34 approximately 7 miles from the Beaver Meadows and Fall River Entrances to the park.
