Educational Videos and Classroom Materials

Students gather around a ranger
Redwood National and State Parks is located along the beautiful but isolated north coast of California. We realize that this rugged landscape may be difficult for many teachers and students to access. Bring the parks home to your students instead, using our series of educational videos and associated classroom materials to instill stewardship from afar.

For more information, email us with any questions.

You can also find and use hundreds of other lesson plans for any national park.

How it Works

Prepare ahead of time by downloading the classroom materials for each lesson plan below. Watch the interactive, ranger-led videos so you are ready to play along with the rangers and your students.

Please note that while these lessons are specifically targeted to meet national and California state curriculum standards at the first and second grade level, they may also be appropriate for other elementary grades.

The audio description file for Grade 2, Lesson 1 is too big to be embedded in the main video. That particular audio described video (and many others) is found on our Audio Description webpage.
