Interior of the visitor center

Information on Presidio history and points of interest in the park is available at the Visitor Center, temporarily located in the Officers' Club, Building 50, on Moraga Avenue near Arguello Boulevard. In addition to rotating exhibits, the Visitor Center houses a bookstore.

The Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years days. Phone (415) 561-4323.

Did You Know?
The National Cemeteries Act was based on the principles articulated by President Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address--"that these dead shall not have died in vain." Passed by Congress in 1863, the law established thirteen cemeteries to inter veterans of the Armed Forces and their families.
