Update: Lighthouse Area Closure Is Extended Until ~Friday, June 21, 2019

March 15, 2019 Posted by: John Dell'Osso

The contractor has notified the park that a critical component of what was hoped to be part of the initial phase of the restoration project will not be completed until early summer 2019. The overall restoration project is also anticipated to be completed at this time as well. As a result, the temporary closure of all areas beyond (e.g., west of) the Lighthouse Visitors' Parking Lot will be extended until approximately June 21, 2019.

Once the restoration project has been completed, visitors will be permitted to walk along the newly paved pathway from the visitors' parking lot to the observation deck and down to the lighthouse, where they will be able to enter the newly restored lighthouse and learn about the lighthouse's history through new exhibits.
