Description

Have you ever seen photographs of nature and wondered how the photographer was able to make it look as beautiful in an image as it is in real life? Or seen photographs of wildlife and wondered how the photographer was able to find them and photograph them in action? Doug Owen, a professional photographer who also served as a Park Ranger, Park Geologist, and Education Specialist for 19 years at Craters of the Moon, will share ideas, methods, practices, and tips to help take nature and wildlife photography to the next level during this course. The course will also include information about naturalist skills and fieldcraft to get great nature and wildlife photographs using modest gear. Participants will also learn ways to keep nature photography simple and how to respect, preserve, and protect subjects, both life forms and landscapes. The course will include both classroom instruction and photographing in the park, weather permitting.
