Betzwood Picnic Area is located on the north side of the Schuylkill River within Valley Forge National Historical Park near the Betzwood trailhead of the Schuylkill River Trail. Betzwood Picnic Area provides shade, picnic tables, potable water, and restrooms.

Betzwood Picnic Area is one of three designated picnic areas at Valley Forge National Historical Park. The other two designated picnic areas are Varnum's Picnic Area and Wayne's Woods Picnic Area.

Picnic Area General Rules and Regulations

  • Trash must be disposed of properly and packed out if no trash receptacles are available.

  • Picnicking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Fires within self-contained grills are permitted in designated picnic areas only. All grill accoutrements and used charcoal must be packed out of the park by the user.

What's Nearby

Betzwood Picnic Area is adjacent to boat trailer parking and a boat ramp on the Schuylkill River. Also nearby is trailhead access to the popular regional Schuylkill River Trail and trailhead access to the NPS-managed Fatlands Trail (formerly the River Trail).
