TRAILS:

Seasonal Trail Closure Due to Bald Eagles Nesting (December 15 - July 15)
Northern portion of Poor Creek Trail located between tour stops 5 & 6.

Trails Update - October 21, 2009:  The loop trails around Fort Morton (tour stop 7) that were closed due to the road project are now open. A new, printable Eastern Front Unit trail map is available here.

Five Forks Trail System: The Five Forks Unit of Petersburg National Battlefield now has approximately eight miles of trails open to the public. These trails can be used for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. Trail maps are available at the new Visitor Contact Station located at 9840 Courthouse Road in Dinwiddie County. Depot Field Hospital  

Did You Know?
The Depot Field Hospital, which was located in City Point, Virginia, (present day Hopewell) was the largest field hospital for Union or Southern troops during the Civil War. (Petersburg National Battlefield)
