Did You Know?
The Pueblo of Pecos has been called the “birth place of southwestern archeology.” From 1915-1927 the excavations conducted in Pecos, by AV Kidder, resulted in the first stratigraphy to date ancient dwellings. The stratigraphy became the foundation for archeologists conducting excavations in the SW.
